While everyone's situation is different, Family Circle can relate because we have been there, both on a personal and a professional level.  As a family we have over 55 years of combined experience taking care of our own loved ones at home as well as many others in their homes and in facilities.  On an administrative level, we pride ourselves on ensuring that the quality of care will remain constant by monitoring and reviewing each case on a regular basis.

Our experience has taught us the importance of a person's independence because we have seen our own loved ones struggle with it.  We understand:

     ● the emotions you feel when someone you love may no longer be safe in their
own home but are terrified of leaving it
     ● how overwhelming it is to provide total care for another individual while
handling all the elements in your own life
     ● how happy someone is when they are not faced with moving into a facility

Amanda Tagert founded Family Circle Home Care in 2006 after coming to grips with some of the shortcomings in the non-medical home care industry. The personal touch had somehow gotten lost in the shuffle and, in order to offer that once again, she felt compelled to create a company with a strong foundation of integrity.

Some may wonder why a person would start a company that focused completely on senior home care, but if you talk with Amanda you’ll realize immediately that the choice was natural for her.

Amanda started her career of caring for other people at a very young age. Her grandmother lived with her family for five years with Alzheimer’s disease and she witnessed first hand what is entailed in taking care of a loved one. This was really a springboard for what began her deep understanding of what a family member should expect from a caregiver. While still in high school Amanda also volunteered her time in domestic and homeless shelters and on the psychiatric floor of the local hospital.

Amanda came to the Detroit Metro area when she decided to study special education and psychology at Wayne State University. After living here only a couple years she began working with a national home care company and quickly realized that was where her heart truly lie.

As we all know, quality service speaks for itself and word quickly spread that Family Circle has a special touch that really set the company apart. This can be directly attributed to Amanda, both as a business owner and as a caregiver.

In her free time you’ll find Amanda spending time with her husband and daughter, both here and with the rest of her family at the lake in her hometown of Coldwater, Michigan.
